Experimenting with offline blog editors

A favorite topic in a previous post that I had made on EdTechnology some time ago…offline blog editors seem to be an interesting way to stay on top of developing ideas without having to go to the web. Currently I’m experimenting with two different apps: ekto, and MarsEdit. After 10 minutes with ekto, I’m giving up. The application spawned so many windows you’d think you were working with an X11 application. It’s confusing as it has one window for managing connections, another for viewing posts, and yet another for creating posts. Contrast that with MarsEdit…the interface in MarsEdit is elegant, like NewsFire, and very easy to use. After adding my blog account to MarsEdit, I just had to click on the “New Post” button at the top of the window. One click and I was editing this entry.

I think I’ll keep MarsEdit around for a while…
